    Letter from the Principal

    August 15, 2017
    Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Seryna Huynh, the new Principal at George H. Dunn Elementary school. It is my privilege and honor to become a member of this great school and community. I am truly grateful to be appointed to this leadership position. I look forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our students, as well as working with our dedicated staff and you, our parents and community members, to provide the best educational program for our students.

My passion has always been in education. I have dedicated my career to ensuring my students always strive to be the best they can be academically, socially, and emotionally. I take pride in seeing my staff, students, parents, and community succeed individually and as a whole. I have been in the educational field for more than fourteen years. My previous experiences include teaching middle school mathematics, training staff in technology and mathematics, mentoring teachers, and serving as an instructional coach. I have also held administrative positions such as interim dean at the high school level, assistant principal and dean of curriculum and instruction at the middle school level, interim assistant director of Early Childhood Education, and elementary principal of a TK-5 school.

Personally, I am blessed with two young children of my own, so I am well aware of the time and sacrifice it takes to help them succeed, but more importantly, of the pride and joy that goes along with witnessing them grow and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. I am very fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve in a district like Rialto Unified School District, where the main focus of education is student-centered. The commitment that characterizes these districts I have served result in excellent school programs. Parents and staff who work collaboratively each day for the benefit of students is one of the exemplary qualities that inspired me to be part of this team. I am very excited to be a part of the George H. Dunn family and to work with everyone to make our school a model school.

My greatest initiative is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment that provides a safe, rigorous, and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all the students and prepare them to have a successful career and master invaluable skills for the 21st century. Furthermore, the objective of our entire staff is to instill an educational program that is academically challenging, engages the students by connecting the curriculum to prior knowledge and experience, promotes exploration of new ideas and encourages collaboration, and stimulates technological proficiency. We all have an important role to motivate and encourage our students to become active learners.

I am once again honored to serve as the new Principal at George H. Dunn Elementary School. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and the community support one another and strive to build positive relationships that ultimately support academic, social, and emotional growth of our students. If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to drop by my office or contact me. I look forward to serve and to get to know each and every one of you.

    Sincerely,

    Seryna Huynh
    Principal
